Have you ever gone out to dinner with a newborn?  It’s incredibly misleading to what’s ahead …

Dexter slept a lot as a newborn and so we had the wrong impression that our days of dining out would go uninterrupted.  All we had to do was wheel the stroller up to the table and he slept peacefully through our dinner.  But as his hours awake increased, so did his demands in a restaurant.

We go out far less than we used to, but when we do we go with plenty of books and the understanding that one person in the party will be on “Dexter Duty” – making sure there is a steady stream of stories and possibly additional entertainment when those run out.

A little challenging to say the least, but we are hopeful that he will eventually learn how to handle “dining out”.
