I posted some very sweet pictures of Dexter and his grandparents on our vacation, but the photo below is probably …

inPoor little Dex spiked a fever yesterday morning. We battled through a whole day of rising and falling temperatures. The upside is that he was able to spend a whole day at home with Mommy and the puppies.
Judging by the smiles in these pictures, you would think he was just playing hooky!

Day number 3 in the hospital.
The doctor encouraged us to stay patient as this is a slow process, but he looks much better. He thinks Dexter should stay at least one more day in the hospital. Tomorrow he will have xrays done to see if his lungs have cleared up. If so, that will be our ticket out!
In the meantime, we are doing our best to entertain Dexter … and ourselves.

inDay number 2 in the hospital.
Dexter is doing better but the doctor wants him to stay a little longer. His lungs are still congested and they want to monitor him during the harsh part of this virus.
Dexter is a bit crabby, partly because of being sick, but also because he is bored … no jumpy jungle gyms in the hospital! The only thing that seems to cure the boredom (and probably this virus) is sleep. Here’s to hoping we are blessed lots of naps today!

Our little Dexter had his first overnight hospital stay since he was born. He started a cough on Monday and had a fever that came and went all week. The pediatrician diagnosed him with bronchiolitis and recommended that we take him to the hospital yesterday to be monitored overnight.
We’ve been here for a little over 12 hours now and he seems to be doing well. He still has a cough, but has been fever-free for most of the stay. His arm IV bandage seems to be keeping him pretty entertained … something new and tasty!
