Tummy time doesn’t seem so bad when it comes in the form of an airplane! We got some really great suggestions from our last tummy time post (thank you!) and the airplane method seems to be working the best.
Dexter is happy to participate for at least 2 minutes now!
The game usually comes to an end when he either starts crying or starts drooling on me … you can see both happened simultaneously this time! (Gross, Dexter!)

I would imagine that a little boy’s first baseball hat is somewhat of a milestone. Well, Dexter just fit into his very first.
Maybe I should have put Daddy in charge of picking up the first hat, though. In retrospect “Here Comes Trouble” doesn’t seem worthy of such a milestone.
We’ll report back when he gets a REAL baseball hat.

Dexter still hates tummy time. But Grandpa Arled insists we must keep trying. I believe him – not only is he an excellent doctor, but he and Linda also raised three boys who seem to have developed all the necessary skills for crawling, walking and just general day-to-day activities.
But I hate, hate , HATE hearing my baby cry … even more, to make him cry. I much prefer the “hero” role. I can swoop in and solve just about any cry with a bottle, big hug, or a game of peek-a-boo.
Dave and I tried slowly rolling him on his tummy (hoping he wouldn’t realize his new position). But by the third try he had us figured out and was clearly pleading for me to save him. I think I am beginning to hate tummy time as much as Dexter.
Please … send your tips on how to convince a three-month old that tummy time is exciting.

Dexter has become quite the little noise maker! He has discovered how to make a buzzing sound and it is his new favorite thing to do … we may have a future Louis Armstrong on our hands.
I caught a few of his personal concerts throughout the week on video.
